STORY

Born with the blood of an oni, a woman's tragic fate burns bright—and fades like crimson flame.
Long ago, in the ancient capital, demons known as oni terrorized the people.
One day, Kinnosuke Sakagami, a loyal retainer to the nobleman Ao Minamoto, is attacked by an oni. Fighting back, he severs the creature's arm before it escapes, vowing revenge.
When Kinnosuke reports the encounter, another retainer, Shima Usui, suggests that the oni may also be responsible for the mysterious disappearance of Ao's wife Beniko and their young daughter Fuji. Ten years earlier, the two vanished without a trace, leaving behind only a pair of footprints believed to belong to an oni.
Though a decade has passed with no sign of them, Ao refuses to believe they are dead. Determined to find the oni's stronghold and bring his family home, he sets out with Kinnosuke, Shima, and the young warrior Momochiyo, seeking the guidance of the eccentric onmyoji Abebeteimei. Their quest takes an unexpected turn when Tochinoki, the one-armed oni who attacked Kinnosuke, appears and abducts Momochiyo. Pursuing him, Ao and his companions journey to the mysterious land of Shinonashi.
Meanwhile, Beniko, Fuji, and Beniko's parents have been living in a small village within Shinonashi. Their graceful dances captivate the village elder Yasohachi, who asks Beniko how they came to the village. As she begins to recount the truth of their past, the hidden tragedy behind their disappearance slowly comes to light.
Bound by blood. Torn apart by destiny.
Will they choose to live together—or die together?
A poignant fantasy tale of love, sacrifice, and the cruel fate carried in one's blood begins to unfold.
